Established in the 1940s, Janson Coffee Farm is a family estate located in Volcán, Chiriquí, Panama. With generations of experience in coffee cultivation, the Janson family has built a reputation for producing exceptional specialty coffees through thoughtful farming practices and a continued commitment to quality.
The farm benefits from rich volcanic soil, cool mountain temperatures, and a distinct microclimate that encourages slower cherry maturation. Located near Volcán Barú, the surrounding landscape offers fertile soil, consistent rainfall, and natural temperature variations between day and night. These conditions allow coffee cherries to mature gradually, encouraging the development of dense beans and greater flavour complexity. The elevation also plays an important role in preserving the delicate characteristics of Geisha, a variety particularly well suited to Panama's highland environment. Combined with careful farm management and a strong respect for the surrounding ecosystem, these natural conditions provide an ideal environment for producing exceptional coffee.
Los Alpes is one of the farm's production areas, where careful cultivation and selective harvesting help maintain the quality of each lot. Lot 145 undergoes washed processing, where the outer fruit is removed before the coffee is fermented, washed, and carefully dried.
