Finca Bethania and Cafetos de Segovia is a family driven project led by third generation producers, sisters Ana and Martha Albir. Their journey began when their father purchased the farm in 1991, dedicating himself to coffee until political unrest forced the family to step away from daily operations. In 2007, Ana and Martha returned to revive the farm, continuing their father’s legacy with renewed purpose.

In 2015, the sisters invested in their own mill, launching Cafetos de Segovia in 2016. Today, the micromill provides milling and export services not only for Finca Bethania, but also for 11 neighboring farms owned by friends and family.

Sustainability is central to their work. Finca Bethania follows an ecoforestry coffee model, preserving native flora and fauna, protecting water sources, and dedicating 3.5 hectares of forest to soil, water, and biodiversity conservation. The family also supports the local community through regional employment and educational programs for preschool and primary school children.

Located in Nueva Segovia, one of Nicaragua’s highest altitude and most celebrated coffee regions, the farm produces coffees with strong lineage from Ethiopian landrace varieties. Historically, this region is known for its smallholder farms and consistent success in the Cup of Excellence, reflecting the quality and care behind every harvest.
