This Ethiopian coffee is sourced from the farm of Helena Georgialis, the founder of Moplaco Trading, one of Ethiopia's most renowned specialty coffee export companies. Grown in the Sidamo region at altitudes between 2000 and 2300 masl, this washed coffee is cultivated by 500-750 smallholder farmers in Arbegona Village. Each farmer tends to 1-2 hectare plots, following traditional farming methods that naturally make the coffee organic. The region's favorable microclimate and healthy soils help enhance sugar development in the beans. Through selective handpicking, the farmers maintain the integrity of each cherry while protecting the coffee trees. The Arbegona coffee is a stunning example of a classic washed Ethiopian coffee, with distinctive flavors that are irresistible.
